    Oil Scheme

West Challow and Challow Station residents may choose to purchase oil for heating from Sweet Fuels (Challow Station) through a community oil buying scheme. The scheme provides residents with a discount on the 'ring around' price of oil and enables Sweet Fuels to schedule all deliveries on the same day of the week (typically Thursdays) for the whole village, resulting in a cleaner and safer village for our residents. The success of the scheme was published in The Telegraph in 2012 View article here.

To participate in the scheme, simpy contact Sweet Fuels directly. There is no membership fee nor commitment. Sweet Fuels can be contacted on 01367 710 666 or enquiries@sweet-fuels.co.uk.

Members of the village scheme will receive free entry into an annual draw with the opportunity to win 500 litres of fuel. For more infomation, contact Pete and Liz Gardner (petegardner100@gmail.com).

    Wilts and Berks Canal Restoration

Running along the southern edge of the village is the historic Wilts and Berks Canal, once an essential route for transporting goods across the region.
The Wilts and Berks Canal Trust (WBCT) was formed in 1977 as a charitable organisation working to preserve, conserve and improve the route of the Wilts and Berks canal.
In 2017, a 30 year lease was agreed, providing the WBCT access to the section of canal at West Challow, with the intention to restore the canal for the benefit of the local community.
